Description
Institutional Review Board (IRB) and Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Certification
This certification is mandatory for all graduate students - by candidacy for Ph.D. students and by thesis submission for master's.
The certification is done online by modules. This session is for information purposes and questions only. You will learn:
- How to open your free account on the CITI website
- What modules you need to do online
- How often you need to get a refresher to maintain your compliance status.
This event offers an overview of the RCR process and the steps you will need to follow to be compliant. This seminar is dedicated to assisting the campus with completing the necessary certifications for research compliance. All researchers who work with NSF and NIH-funded projects, and all graduate students working on a master’s thesis or Ph.D. students who reach candidacy must complete CITI certification or a department-approved equivalent.
Speaker: Timothy Sparklin, Research Compliance Officer from the Office of Research Protections and Compliance at UMBC.
