An Afternoon with JMB Scientific Editor -
Dr. Helene Hodak
The Meyerhoff Graduate Fellows Program in collaboration with the PROMISE Program present an afternoon with Dr. Helene Hodak. Dr. Hodak, a Scientific Editor at the Journal of Molecular Biology will present a workshop on "High Profile Scientific Publishing".
Publishing your research and having it acknowledged by your peers is a
necessary step deeply embedded in the scientific research process. Whether you
are considering a career in academia or in industry, your publishing record
will be an important criterion that will determine your chances of getting that
dream job. This workshop is not intended to list the technical aspects of
manuscript writing, but rather offer a perspective from an editor’s point of
view and most of all engage you in a conversation on how to valorize your work.
It will also attempt to demystify the “black box” of publishing and behind the
scenes of manuscript processing from the moment it is submitted to the moment a
decision is made.
