Description
The PROMISE Research Symposium is a unique and powerful opportunity for graduate students – especially those from historically underserved and minoritized backgrounds – to present their research, network, and get feedback from faculty and postdoctoral fellows who stand ready to be your mentors, champions, and future colleagues. In addition to poster presentations, there are traditional oral presentations and 3-minute thesis-style oral presentations.
Our PROMISE Research Symposium will be hosted on February 15th, 2024 in the University of Maryland College Park.
Location: University of Maryland College Park (UMD), Adele H. Stamp Student Union – Prince George’s Room, 3972 Campus Dr, College Park, MD 20742
Time: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Attire: Business Casual
Transportation:There will be free transportation from UMBC to UMD. Please email promise@umbc.edu before February 8 with the subject title “Research Symposium Bus” and your full name and cellphone number. The bus departs from the UMBC Administration Circle at 8:00 AM. This location is in front of the administration building. The bus will depart from UMD at 2:00 PM and arrive at UMBC around 3:00 PM.
Important:
- Presentation slots are limited to graduate students within the University System of Maryland.
- Faculty, scientists, and postdocs from universities and organizations (within or outside the University System of Maryland) can participate as mentors and judges for poster and presentation sessions. Please email cperez6@umd.edu to let us know!
